Welcome!

I am a postdoctoral researcher in Comparative Politics at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. I defended my PhD in Political Science at Gothenburg University in September 2023. During my PhD, I did a research stay at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

My research interests include political behavior, gender and politics, and comparative politics. My PhD dissertation explores backlash against feminism and radical right support. Two of my dissertation papers are published in the European Journal of Political Research (access here and here) and other papers are published in West European Politics, Social Politics and Frontiers in Political Science.

I recently won a three-year research grant from the Swedish Research Council to conduct research on who feels threatened by women’s empowerment, together with Amy Alexander and Nicholas Charron. Next to my postdoctoral work, I have a book project on the role of gender and sexuality in political authoritarianism under contract with Cambridge Elements. I am further excited to branch into new projects, including on issue salience.

My research has been covered by international media, for example in The Economist, The Telegraph and The Independent, as well as in podcasts and academic blog posts that you can access here.
